Secondary students of Rasbihari International School celebrated week long Ambedkar Jayanti to commemorate and honour his contribution as an Indian jurist, politician, philosopher, historian and economist who was the principal architect of the Constitution of India. During the morning assembly Grade 6 and 7 students presented his quotes, Grade 8 students presented a monologue of Dr. B R Ambedkar and a video showing his life story. Grade 9 students presented a skit on one of his college life experience highlighting his struggle and determination to lead a life of equality. Grade 10 students presented a PPT on his life journey. The activities presented by students promoted the value of grit, determination, equality and vision that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar reflected and worked for in his life time.Students of grades 1 to 5 also acknowledged Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution towards our country and community through various activities. Grade 3 to 5 students performed small skits representing a few life incidences of Babasaheb that led him to become a revolutionary social reformer. These skits included an episode of his school life where he faced discrimination and became the victim of the caste system in his childhood, Temple entry movement at Kalaram Mandir Nashik, Mahad Satyagraha to allow untouchables to use water in a public tank in Mahad. Grade 5 children also shared various quotes and slogans written by Dr Ambedkar such as β€˜Life should be great rather than long’, β€˜I like the religion that teaches liberty, equality and fraternity’, β€˜They cannot make history who forget history’ etc. β€˜Vachaal tar Vachaal’ the famous Marathi slogan of Babasaheb that empathized the importance of education was also shared by grade 3 students.
