Grade 10 students were introduced to the gardening project as a part of their curriculum. Mr. Ashtekar guided students for the project, which included growing of vegetables using Amrit-Jal. It is an liquid organic fertilizer which enriches the nutrient level of soil used for organic farming. Students prepared Amrut-Jal using cow dung, cow urine, jaggery and water. Then they prepared soil beds and sowed vegetable seeds on which they sprinkled Amrut-Jal on weekly basis, which keeps the soil alive and rich in nutrients. This project helped students to acquire skills of Agri-practices for higher yield along with a sustained source of agriculture. The whole process of preparation of fertilizer to sowing was a great experience. Students had lot of queries and curious about the whole process.
