29 August is the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 in India. The day commemorates the birthday of hockey player 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐡𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝, who won gold medals for India in the Olympics of 1928, 1932 and 1936. However, National Sports Day is also an annual reminder of the need for sporting activities in life. It is a great initiative to promote the sporting activities in India.Due to the pandemic and decreased mobility and the social distancing, the day is perhaps more important now than ever. 𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐁𝐈𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐈 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 has always been a great supporter of sports and physical activity because of the benefits it has for students. As a response to the lock down and distance learning, 𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐁𝐈𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐈 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 sport team have started to engage in activities and initiatives to combat negative effects and to build positive ones. But despite technology there were still challenges, as many students did not have access to the right resources or open areas. Sport teachers at 𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐁𝐈𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐈 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 have been trying to encourage our students by preparing lessons for them based on exercises and skills that can be done in home conditions Celebrating sports and envisioning sportsmanship, the school celebrated the National Sports Day in the form of a Sports Week via a digital platform from Monday, 23 August 2021 to Friday, 27 August 2021. The main objective of the Sports Week was to promote fitness and interest for sports amongst the children. Various enthusiastic activities like briefing about Major Dhyan Chand and his contribution, Olympic quiz were conducted by the sport teacher. In the secondary section one minute physical challenge activities such Flamingo balance, Plate tapping, Partial curl, push up, 600 meter and walk was conducted which helped students to set up own personal physical goals. All the students actively participated in the Sports Week making it a huge success to cherish sports and its tremendous benefits.
