Makar Sankranti is a harvest festival celebrated across India that marks the end of winter and the beginning of longer days as the sun moves northward. It is also known as Uttarayan and is considered to be extremely fortunate. This festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and by offering Tilgul and good wishes in Maharashtra. The blue skies are adorned with colourful kites . Makar Sankranti was celebrated online in Rasbihari International School so that students stay connected with our rich culture in this modern world of technology. Grade 8 and 9 students presented the importance of Sankranti festival and how it is celebrated in Maharashtra as well as other parts of our country like Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Orissa, Punjab. Students explained the mythological significance as well as the importance of sesame seeds in our diet.
