Student’s Mental Health Awareness Program at Rasbihari International School

On 29th July 2021, Students from grade 8th, 9th and 10th participated in the first Mental health awareness program series commencing for the year 2021 with the School Psychologist Piyushee Amrite.
The topic dealt with Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs as a platform to understand the importance of physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging needs, esteem needs and Self actualization needs in a human’s journey through life.
During the pandemic, all the hierarchical system of needs have been shaken and has rendered us to feel unsafe, unstable and has forced us to question what remains when our needs are not met with.
The students engaged in a deep conversation with the school counselor to express their fears and insecurities. As the first session out of the multiple sessions to follow at Rasbihari it opens up avenues for students to express their feelings, embrace the changes and be more resilient.
