English Elocution Competition 2018-19
“He who wants to persuade should put his trust not in the right argument, but in the right word. The power of sound has always been greater than the power of sense.”Says Joseph Conrad……the famous words lingered on in the mind of all those who were lucky to witness the English Elocution Competition organized by School on the 8th of August 2018. The participants, exhibited perfect shades and finer points that go into making a public speech interesting and captivating. The poise, self-confidence and praiseworthy articulation delivered by the speakers with uncommon sense of conviction, made the event a benchmark for the fellow students, also providing utmost satisfaction and pride to the teachers.
The event had 20 talented budding speakers from grades VI to Xth representing their houses.
The students were clubbed into two groups. Grade VI & VII comprised of first group and the second group had students from grade VIII, IX & X. The topics were Childhood -a boon or a curse?, The story I liked the most, Nature our teacher, Forgetting -an art, A thing of beauty is a joy for ever,Is India prepared for paperless society?, Ban on plastic- a right move towards green environment.
Mrs. Tanuja Yajnik from HAL High school and Jr. College, Ozar Township assessed the performance. Some factors which were adjudged during the competition were voice quality, speech content and delivery standards with appropriate topics. The participants were so well prepared that it was indeed a difficult task for Mrs. Tanuja to give her decision. She appreciated the effort, applauded the hard work and particularly appreciated the material / content collated by the students.

First Position: Master NabheshDayma , Second Position: Miss DyaneshwariDeore.
The Second Group winners were:
First Position were two students :- 1)Miss Anushwara Vijaykumar 2)Miss Sanchita Weljali
The consolation prize winners were two students
1)Miss Sakshi Nikam 2)Miss Shraddha Malode.
Miss Unnati Shinde and Miss Jayashree Rikame shouldered the responsibility of anchoring the programme.
