World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year to mark the importance of nature and environment. The main aim of the celebration is to encourage worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. The theme for the Word Environment Day 2021 is ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ with the slogan of ‘Reimagine, Recreate, Restore’.
With this theme the students at Rasbihari International School celebrated the World Environment Day with great enthusiasm on virtual platform.
students watched short film on ‘Ecosystem Restoration” that helped them to understand the significance of world environment day and also gave them idea about conservation of earth.
On this occasion, an online interaction was arranged with renowned environmentalist Mrs. Vasudha Patil. She shared her experiences on how to balance the environment, what children can do for the environment in the current covid period. She also mentioned to adopt the three principles of commitment, honesty and regularity, by following it one can be successful in any task in life. Mrs. Vasudha Patil Madam appealed the students and staff members to come forward and work for environmental conservation.
During the virtual interaction the students also discussed various topics related to the environment by asking her questions and showing a great curiosity regarding her work as an environmentalist.
As a part of their learning students shared various practices that can conserve and restore natural resources. They created power point presentation to explain the need to preserve natural resources and shared traditional and modern way to conserve and restore the damage caused by the people.
Also, the students made beautiful poster and exhibited their creativity. They also encouraged others to nurture the environment by planting the saplings in their vicinity.
Students took oath to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. They listed various actions such as planting local plants, giving sapling as a gift, creating awareness program about local ecosystem, drivers for degradation and ways to restore ecosystem in our surrounding.
