In order to promote fitness among school children, Rasbihari International School observed Fitness Week in third and fourth week of November as a part of Fit India Movement. The prime objective of Fit India Movement was to bring about a behavioural change in school children from spending “screen consumption time ” to “Active consumption Time” It was observed from 18th of November 2019 to 23rd of November 2019.A special morning assembly was organised by physical education teacher in which all the students participated in Yoga and some physical exercises. The Students participated in the exercise with full zest and it created an exuberant atmosphere.Mrs.Piyushee Amrite,the school counceller conducted a special session on ‘Mental fitness’ for grade 9 and 10 students .The session focused on how your daily activities contribute to your mental fitness.
Mr.Somnath Dharbhale , Arts teacher guided the students to express their thoughts on “Fit Body – Fit Mind – Fit Environment” .It was a day where we saw creativity exploding in every piece of art. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to think out of the box. Rasbihari International School has always shown keen interest in taking initiatives to make the students as well as parents fit and healthy. To mould this interest into action, fourth day of fitness week,a session on aerobics and Zumba was organised for parents, teachers and students .Zumba gives kids a ‘brain break’ from the ordinary form of active play. Parents had a great and fantastic experience. They also mentioned it was really a creative and fun way of exercising. Students were beaming with ecstasy .
A special morning assembly was organised by physical education teacher in which the volunteer students along with their grade students also participated in sports quiz The Students participated in the quiz with full zest .The quiz was very informative and knowledge enriching for the participants as well as for the audience. The students displayed ecstatic spirit and enjoyed the quiz to the fullest.Indigenous Games of Odisha were introduced and played in the school. Puchi Thia Puchi is performed in a standing position and Basa Puchi is played in a squatting position.They strengthen the whole body, especially thighs and feet. Students enjoyed the indigenous game of Odisha Puchi and Bagudi .Bagudi is a lot like Kabaddi.
