Rasbihari school’s ex-student ‘Smit’ wins the Junior All India Ranking Tournament
Rasbihari school’s ex-student Smit Toshniwal wins the junior All India ranking tournament held at Vijaywada, which was also amongst one of the 3 tournaments for Junior Indian Team selection for the Dutch and German junior international Grand Prix scheduled in the month of Feb- March 2019.
In the first round smit beat Bhargavi K from Telangana 21-18 21-15. Second Round she beat the Karnataka state champion Trisha Hegde in a thriller with the score line 21-11 11-21 21-18 in 55 minutes. In the quarter finals she beat the no. 3 seed Amolika Singh 21-19 21-12. This was her first win over Amolika after losing twice earlier. In the semi finals she beat young Tasnim Mir which happened to be the longest match she has ever played, 1 hour and 13 minutes. Scores 21-17 13-21 22-20.
In the finals she beat the top seed Deepshikha Singh from Delhi 21-18 21-15
